Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings

Baked chicken wings are equally as crispy, juicy and delicious as fried wings. They are easy to make and I can't believe I haven't had this recipe on my blog sooner. These are perfect for football Sunday or any game night!

I never ate chicken wings until I moved to America. In England they never sold ranch or franks red hot sauce until recently so it wasn't something that was even on my radar. But from the moment I tried them, I loved them. I am all about extra crispy wings. There is nothing sadder than a soggy wing. I leave my wings naked and toss them in the sauce right before serving so they don't lose that important crunch. Let me show you how I make them!

You will need:

For the wings-

10-12 chicken wings

1 tbsp vegetable oil

2 tsp franks red hot sauce

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp garlic powder

For the buffalo sauce-

1/2 cup franks red hot sauce

2 tbsp butter

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F

Cut your wings to separate the drum from the flat and also discard the wing tip.

Put your wings in to a large bowl. Put in your vegetable oil, franks, salt and garlic powder. Toss to coat.

Place the wings on a baking sheet with a wire rack. The wire rack is very important because that is how the wings get to crispy because they aren't sitting in the pan in their own juices.

Pop the wings in to the oven for 25 minutes on one side. Then turn them over and cook for another 25 minutes.

While the wings are cooking in the oven, start making your sauce.

Melt together your butter and franks red hot sauce in a small pot on the stove with the dash of garlic powder. That's literally it!

Once the wings are ready, toss them in the sauce and serve with your choice of ranch or blue cheese and enjoy!
